Dr Mike Fray PhD BSc(Hons) BHSc MCSP SRP
Research Fellow
Dr Mike Fray has been a Research Fellow in HEPSU since 2006. He has worked on projects investigating musculoskeletal injury prevention and rehabilitation, specifically the risks from patient handling and range of healthcare product design projects.
These projects range from space requirements in hospital treatment areas, hoist equipment, pressure relieving mattresses and the delivery of pre-hospital care in the community. He was the Course Tutor on the Post-Graduate Back Care Programme at Loughborough University for 15 years (1997-2012).
He submitted his PhD in 2010 on an investigation of successful outcomes in Patient Handling Interventions across the European Union. Dr Fray has membership on several international panels e.g. the author panel for ISO technical report TR12296, EPPHE, and the ASPHP (US).
