Loughborough Design School Research Students Win Awards

Two of Loughborough Design School’s research students have been recognised with recent prestigious awards. Abby Paterson was a recipient of the University’s Graduate School Award and Andrew Johnson won an award for best Poster at the recent Advances in Protective Clothing conference.
Design School student puts the gloves on London’s Lady Mayoress

Andrew Shiels, a Design School final year student (Industrial Design and Technology) entered a competition to design the gloves for London’s Lady Mayoress. The Lady Mayoress wore the gloves during the Lord Mayor’s Show in November.
LDS undergraduates scoop Bronze, Silver and Gold at the National POPAI awards

For the second year running, three of our undergraduate students have scooped the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards at the national POPAI Awards (Point-of-Purchase Advertising International).

Four Design School major projects were acknowledged at the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) awards ceremony at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans on 17 September.
Design School students win prizes at international Conferences

Two Design School students, Yacine Ouzzahra and Damien Fournet, won awards at two international conferences. Yacine won best student oral presentation at the 14th International Conference on Environmental Ergonomics in Greece and Damien won a prize for the young investigator award at the Conference of the European College of Sports Science in Liverpool.

Pavegen innovation wins top prize at Ethical Business Awards

Laurence Kemball-Cook, inventor of the innovative low-carbon energy solution and CEO of Pavegen Systems, accepted the top prize for winning the 'Big Idea' category at the prestigious Ethical Business Awards, hosted by The Observer newspaper.
