Ergonomics in Human Sciences - An Introduction
Ergonomics is one of three disciplinary groupings within the Department
of Human Sciences at Loughborough. The other two (Human Biology and Psychology)
have historically enjoyed very close intellectual relations with Ergonomics.
Ergonomics is a multi-disciplinary subject which, in addition to its own
specific areas of interest, also calls upon the expertise within these
other two areas. So, in these Web pages, while we describe a core of Ergonomists
in the Department, we also indicate the variety of Human Science research
that is happening around that core.
The word "Ergonomics" has entered popular language relatively recently, and there may not be agreement as to its meaning. What is being an ergonomist all about? What about the career after the qualification? Where does ergonomics fit into the world around us? Go here to find out...
