The Department of Geography offers a range of student exchange programmes with partner universities in Europe and beyond.

Under these agreements, you spend a year studying at the partner university taking courses and modules relevant to geography that have been approved by Loughborough University staff.  Students have a unique opportunity to experience student life in another country and are awarded a Diploma in International Studies on successful completion of their year abroad.

We currently have Erasmus Programme exchange agreements, funded through the European Union’s Lifelong Learning Programme, with the following partner departments:

• Department of Geography University of Heidelberg, Germany.

• Department of Human Geography Radboud University Nijmegen, the Netherlands.

• Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystems Analysis Lund University, Sweden.

• Faculty of Geography and History University of Valencia, Spain.

• The Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences at Eötvos Löránd University Budapest, Hungary.
