My research interests sit at the intersection of geographical work on ‘Migration, Identity and the State’ and ‘Children, Youth and Families’. I am currently the Research Associate on Dr Sarah Mills’ ESRC project ‘A rite of passage?’: National Citizen Service and the Geographies of Youth Citizenship.

My PhD research investigated the importance of temporary, international migration in the career progression of skilled individuals. In doing so, a case study of a sport-led migration was applied and examined the seasonal out-migration of UK-based professional cricketers to Australia. This project used a range of research methods and engaged with various stakeholders. It was supervised by Professor Darren Smith (Department of Geography) and Professor Joseph Maguire (School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences). I have presented my research at over ten conferences, and co-convened several conference workshops and events.
