Abstract
The main aim of this research is to define new methods and techniques on providing knowledge management support to the community (engineers) responsible for design and life cycle management of autonomous systems, in order to ensure safe, reliable, secure, extensible, cost-effective and maintainable operation. This can be supported through appropriate learning mechanisms for the community.
The final outcome will be an assistive framework to support designers of autonomous systems to ensure that principles of through life management are included in the design considerations. The framework may include checklists, guidelines, training and/ or education strategies and materials. Its definitive shape is determined based on needed knowledge and working practices which are most applicable and suitable.
