After working for Loughborough University’s Enterprise Office for over ten years, Amanda Pearce joined the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering in April 2009. She has substantial experience of working at the interface between academia, industry and government on large-scale, strategic partnerships particularly in the fields of engineering and innovation.
Amanda works to create, cultivate and maintain relationships between the department and external organisations to the mutual benefit of both.
Projects include developing information and education packages from existing capability, tailored to the needs of outside stakeholders; liaising with industrial partners, other departments and external agencies to negotiate collaborations, facilitating events and raising awareness of departmental activities and strengths.
Not surprisingly, she is an enthusiastic advocate of the benefits of partnership and is always delighted to listen to new ideas and proposals.

The primary purpose of this role was to support and progress the university’s large-scale, strategic partnerships, particularly in the fields of engineering and education innovation.
Working daily on the interface between the three quite different cultures of academia, industry and government to broker and facilitate positive relationships gave Amanda respect for and insight into each of them.
From 2003 to 2009, she was seconded to work with industrial partners in the Systems Engineering Innovation Centre (SEIC) where she was responsible for marketing and communications work, customer relations, high profile event management and business development.

Setting up and running her own business from scratch was immensely exciting and rewarding.
