As befits the Loughborough tradition, we always search for ways to exploit the benefits of what we do and consequently enjoy high level, close partnerships at national and international levels with both large and small companies.

The nature of the partnerships varies according to our complementary strengths and needs; the purpose is always the same. Sometimes, our ideas need new companies to apply and develop them and we are delighted to have three successful spin-out companies doing just that. We work with industry to ensure companies can appoint our graduates and engage in research knowing that we understand their needs. Equally we want industry to enrich our students’ experience at Loughborough and become real partners in research. In the education context we facilitate and encourage industrial placement years; engage company experts to work with students in specialist areas; encourage company based student projects, often resulting in funds and quipment. We build formal and informal partnerships with companies in education and research, all, of course, making our graduates so employable and our research so relevant.
