I graduated from Bretton Hall in 1995 with a degree in Theatre design and technology, and worked for a number of touring theatre companies as a stage manager and technician for a few years before obtaining a resident chief electrician post in a receiving house in the north east. I then went on to study for a PGCE which I achieved in 2002. I also hold an MA in Performance and Multi-Media Texts from Loughborough University.
Now, I deliver the Costume design and Puppetry modules as well as lecturing on the Technical and Advanced Technical modules. My current research interests include virtual theatrical spaces and their impact on new developments in scenographic design, traditional puppetry, historical costuming and stage design. I continue to work professionally designing and constructing costumes and props for living history, theatre, television and film.
