Partnering on Copyright

The 'Publishing Agreements' work package further develops and refines an already existing web-base copyright toolkit, which can assit academic authors, Higher Education Institutions and publishers both in the UK and the Netherlands in creating balanced publishing agreements.

The basis of this toolkit will be four balanced publishing agreements, depending on whether an author wants to transfer/assign their rights or give the publisher a (temporary) license to publish. In the model agreements, certain minimum rights for each stakeholder involved are laid out. Another outcome of this work package is the different 'terms ans clauses', provisions, good practices, addenda to agreements, etc., which can be incorporated in publishing agreements. By using the toolkit, the stakeholders can determine which rights are necessary for them and contribute to a more balanced process of scholarly communication.
