How to apply
There are two parts to an application.
You should first write a two page research proposal that summarises the background to your intended research, the objectives, proposed methods, and what you hope the outcomes of your research might be.
We encourage you to discuss this with an appropriate member of staff – for staff interests and contact details please see our staff pages.
Alternatively you can send your two page proposal to our Director of Research Degrees, Andrew May and he will pass it onto the most relevant member of staff.
When you have had some feedback on your two page proposal, you can submit an application online using the Applications Portal.
If you have any queries about the application process then please email or telephone Jane Purvey, +44 1509 222652.
UK candidates should normally have at least an upper second in a relevant undergraduate qualification, or a good pass at master degree level postgraduate degree. EU and other International students should hold an equivalent qualification. A lower level qualification with appropriate work experience may also be considered.
All applicants to Loughborough University must meet the General Entrance Requirements which include the minimum standards for English language competency. You can find out more information about this on the English language section of our website.
