Karin D. Boers BSc,MSc,CMIOSH
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Thompson Rivers University in Canada, Karin moved to the UK where she worked at the University of Edinburgh as a Health and Safety Manager. She completed a part-time Master of Science in Occupational Health and Safety Management in 2016 and she began a full-time PhD in May 2017 funded by Loughborough University.
She is a chartered member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and a student member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors, the Design Research Society and the British Tunnelling Society.
Karin’s research focuses on occupational safety and health and it will explore how the strategy to practice complex systems such as OSH communication and decision making is mandated in the context of the Tideway Tunnel Project.
