The facilities at The Design School can’t be beaten

What have you gained from The Design School experience?

A rounded set of skills covering all aspects within industrial design and topics closely related.

What is your best memory of your time at The Design School?

Group work on the DMT module with four of my best friends in second year, while modelling the mould tool.

Have you felt supported by the School and the staff during your time here? If yes, how have they supported you?

More so in final year, with all staff making their time available for meetings to discuss projects.

What are you hoping to do after graduation?

Get a job that allows me to work with the specialist skills I have learnt while studying at Loughborough University and on my year’s placement.

Do you hope to pursue a career in design? What industry interests you?

Yes, definitely. All areas of industrial design interest me, or perhaps another field where I can transfer some of my skills such as Graphic Design.

What advice would you give to people aspiring to study Design at university?

To ensure they have a strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail.

What is your favourite part of the design process?

My favourite part starts from ideation to the end of development when CAD renderings are being produced.

What materials do you most enjoy using?

I enjoy using Blue Foam as it is perfect for producing quick models and can easily be tweaked. It is very useful for a variety of design evaluations.

Do you have a favourite design style?

Not really, it entirely depends on the scenario for the product. For me form is function, but this can sometimes change depending on a product’s use.
