Wastewater management
The objectives of this network are to share information and knowledge about applied research in the realm of wastewater management and practices appropriate to the developing world.
The scope of the network will be broad, and include all aspects of wastewater management, including:

appropriate and affordable wastewater collection, treatment and disposal technologies and practices; and

|
planning and regulation issues which are integral aspects of wastewater management.

The network seeks to offer a forum for exchange of information and for communication on applied research between all professionals working in the sector. As such it will be open to all who have an interest in sustainable wastewater management.
The network will undertake the following activities:

summarise and disseminate relevant information on research in the field in the form of a newsletter (quarterly);
|
|

|

|
maintain current information on research efforts, studies or projects undertaken by network members;
|
|

|
|

|
hold relevant information on available training courses;
|

|

|
respond to information requests from network members and others about the network; and
|
|
.
|
|

|
maintain and periodically expand wastewater management information accessible electronically (through electronic forum and website).

The network will be managed by Shaaban Mgana, based at UCLAS, Tanzania, but also with assistance from an advisory committee (including: Jaap Ringsburger [WASTE Consultants]; Darren Saywell [WEDC]; Jeremy Parr [WEDC]; Roland Schertenleib [SANDEC]).
