Miss Sameedha Mahadkar
B.E (Civil), M.Sc (Construction Management)

Research Associate

Background

Sameedha Mahadkar graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Pune, India. She briefly worked as an assistant project manager on a building project in India and further went on to pursue her Masters in Construction Management at Loughborough University. She is currently a researcher within the Health and Care Infrastructure Research and Innovation Centre (HaCIRIC) at Loughborough University.

HaCIRIC is a unique collaborative centre between existing research centres at Imperial College London and the Universities of Loughborough, Reading and Salford (http://www.haciric.org/). Sameedha's main research focuses on the planning, design and operation of healthcare services and facilities.

At present, she is working on an EPSRC (European Physical Sciences Research Council) funded project aimed at developing a framework to support and improve master planning and integrated service provision within the healthcare sector. Recent projects include a review of service reconfiguration and stakeholder engagement with a Local Primary Care Trust; and the development of models of care based on clinical specialities funded by the Department of Health in collaboration with MARU (Medical Architecture Research Unit), London South Bank University and the Prince's Foundation for the Built Environment. Sameedha is also pursuing her doctoral studies in the same area.
