Loughborough University explores the future of gas powered vehicles in the UK
Loughborough University is exploring the barriers to the development of a successful gas powered commercial vehicles market in the UK, as part of a research project funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the Transport iNet.
Experts in transport from the School of Civil and Building Engineering have teamed up with the Nottinghamshire based company Hardstaff Group, developers of cutting edge technology in the road transport industry, to run gas powered vehicle and refuelling station trials that will particularly benefit medium and small businesses in the East Midlands.

MSc Transport
Our new MSc in Transport programme has now been formally approved by the University. Applications are now being considered for admission to the new MSc.
The MSc in Transport is designed to combine the best features of our existing programmes, together with some subject areas we have not been able to offer before. Specifically, there will be a total of eight 15 credit taught modules and a 60 credit project. The planned modules are as follows:
- Transport Policy and Planning
- Sustainable Cities and Transport
- Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- Transport Services Marketing
- Research and Communication
- Transport Business Management & Finance
- Quantitative Methods for Transport Research Project
- Transport and the Environment
This maintains our core strengths in policy and planning, marketing and business, environment and sustainability and research methods while adding a logistics and supply chain module. The emphasis on business and sustainability is a unique selling point of this new programme. 21/03/12
TSG "Lunch and Lecture at Loughborough" series
The Loughborough University Transport Studies Group's Lunch and Lecture at Loughborough series is going from strength to strength. It was launched in 2008 as a complement to the TSG MSc programmes.
