Induction Information - Monday, 2 October 2017

This information is for students joining our MSc programmes in Advanced Computer Science and Internet Computing and Network Security in the forthcoming academic session.

We will start the day at 08.45am with registration in SMB017 Stewart Mason Building. The day will give you an opportunity to meet fellow students on your course, hear from support services across the campus and get to know the staff in the School of Science and in your department. We look forward to seeing you there.

The hands-on Lab Induction Session is designed to introduce you not only to the use of the main computer systems that you will be using, but also to the way in which they are structured, how they are connected to the Department's network and therefore, how to access applications and information.  Also, some important health and safety matters will be addressed. 

Reception

The Department of Computer Science is hosting a Reception for all new Taught Postgraduate students on the 3rd floor open area, Haslegrave building at 12.15pm on Monday 2 October. It will be your first chance to really meet each other and many of the staff who be teaching and supporting you throughout your time with us.

International students

For international students, there is an extra International Induction and Welcome event (in addition to the Undergraduate Induction event above which all Computer Science students should attend) which takes place on the evening of Tuesday, 3 October 2017 at 6.00pm - 9.00pm.
