After finishing my Masters studies in 2010 in Bradford University here in the UK, I thought about completing my studies to a PhD.  I worked hard to achieve the PhD programme entry requirements.  I was even trying to apply to study at Loughborough University then.

Going back to Oman to proceed with teaching in an IT department and finding it very busy, it gave me a great opportunity to gain a lot of experience.

His Majesty, Sultan Qaboos then announced that there would be 1000 higher study opportunities with a specified criteria and majors.  I applied and was really lucky to get the chance to study at Loughborough University.

Loughborough was my first choice because I had heard about it from many of my friends; it was also recommended by our Ministry of Higher Education too.

Loughborough University has given me the chance to be part of one of the research communities available at the university.  I belong to the Networks, Communications and Control Systems Research Group (NCCS) under the leadership of Professor Shuang-Hua Yang.
