Computer Science at Loughborough rises to 6th place in The Guardian University League Table

Loughborough University has been ranked 4th in the 2017 Guardian University League Table - marking its highest ever league table position and making it the top ranked university in England after Cambridge and Oxford. In the subject tables, the Department of Computer Science has leapt to 6th place.

The table ranks the country’s 119 universities by scoring each institution for the aspects of university life that matter most to students, such as course and teaching satisfaction, staff to student ratio, spend per student, average entry tariff and employability.  

The latest league table success comes just weeks after Loughborough secured 7th place in The UK Complete University Guide 2017

Computer Science at Loughborough has risen to 6th place in the subject tables, further cementing the Department's reputation for providing a high quality student experience and opening up excellent employment opportunities for graduates. 

Loughborough University Vice Chancellor Professor Robert Allison said:

“I am absolutely delighted that Loughborough has been ranked 4th in the Guardian University League Table. This important league table bases its results on the factors that matter most to students, which makes our achievement in it even more rewarding.

“Although rankings fluctuate, with universities going up and down, this latest positioning for Loughborough is yet further evidence of our continued success and is testament to the hard work that has taken place across the University. I would like to congratulate everyone who has helped us get to this position.”

The Guardian University League Table top ten is:

4= Surrey 
6. Durham          
7. Imperial College        
8. Lancaster       
9. Warwick         
10. Bath

In addition to the University’s success in both the Guardian and Complete University Guide league tables, Loughborough has also this year won the Times Higher Student Experience of the Year Award and two Whatuni Student Choice Awards.
