The Department of Computer Science ranked highly in the latest NSS

Loughborough University has finished Top 5 in the annual National Student Survey (NSS), securing one of its best ever results. This year’s figures see Loughborough rise three places from its 2014 finish, and rank as the top East Midlands university by some margin.

Our School of Science departments also ranked highly in this year’s survey, with the Department of Computer Science ranking 6th in the UK for overall satisfaction in Computer Science, out of 111 institutions (based on mean score):

  • Top 3 in the UK for Learning Resources
  • Top 3 in the UK for Organisation and Management
  • Top 4 in the UK for Assessment and Feedback
  • Top 6 in the UK for Teaching on my Course

Speaking about the results, Loughborough University Vice Chancellor Professor Robert Allison said:

“Loughborough is committed to providing its students with a world class experience, and preparing them for life after University. In a year we were named University of the Year at the What Uni Student Choice Awards, and achieved 2nd in the THE Student Experience Survey, it is heartening to see these figures from the NSS, which show students are genuinely satisfied with the educational experiences and opportunities we are providing.”

The Department of Computer Science is highly placed in university league tables and boasts excellent industry connections. Graduates enjoy exceptionally high starting salaries, with £27,000 being the average salary of graduates (after six months of leaving) reported in the DLHE 2014 survey.
