Chemistry Department Students win Prestigious Awards

Research Student Paul Brack Wins Prestigious Awards

We are delighted to announce that Paul Brack (an EPSRC case award holder with Intelligent Energy Plc, attached to our Energy Research Laboratory) has received a prestigious Society of Chemical Industry scholarship.

As a recipient of this award, Paul will receive £5,000 over 2 year period. In addition to that, Paul Brack will now become part of the SCI’s College of Scholars, a network including present and past scholars which offers numerous benefits.

Paul Brack has also recently received the Pera Future Societal Impact Award for his oral presentation entitled ‘Bismuth vanadate thin films for photoelectrochemical water splitting’ delivered at the Royal Society of Chemistry Younger Members' Symposium at the University of Birmingham on June 24th 2014.

Research Student Nirmal Peiris Wins Graduate School Prize 2014

Nirmal Peiris, a member of Energy Research Laboratory, has won this year’s prestigious Graduate School Prize for his outstanding achievements. This award was presented to him at the 2014 Loughborough University Research Conference on the 18th June.
