Lecturer in IChemE Global Award 2016 Final
Dr Reis' project 'The power of miniaturisation and smartphone diagnostics' has made the final stage for the Biotechnology Award and the Resource-poor Technology Award.
Dr Reis is invited to attend the IChemE Global Awards 2016 in November, where the winner will be announced.
In the run-up to the Awards ceremony, IChemE will be promoting the Awards and featuring the finalists to highlight the importance of chemical engineering.
Finalists need to create a short video for promoting their project, which will be placed on IChemE’s YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Google+ pages and shared via IChemE's LinkedIn Groups, as well as featuring some of the videos on IChemE's blog.
Dr Reis, pictured left, stated:
“I am very excited to be shortlisted for two very relevant global IChemE awards this year, in recognition of the high levels of innovation and research excellence developing novel miniaturised diagnostic tools for global diagnostics in our research group at Loughborough. A great example where the multidisciplinary skills of chemical engineers make a real difference addressing major technological and societal challenges.”
We wish Dr Reis the very best at the Awards Ceremony in November, where hopefully his project will impress the judges for both Awards.
