Students will need to hold or expect to gain at least a 2(1) degree in an appropriate engineering or physical science discipline or equivalent (with evidence of 1st Class performance in key subject areas). Criteria will include the applicant's project draft proposal, their motivation and willingness to develop their scientific and engineering skills in a multidisciplinary, research environment, their relevant experience and personal qualities.
A number of EPSRC studentships are available to suitably qualified candidates which will cover all university fees and will provide a competitive tax-free stipend.
