Research student wins DIAMOND conference prize

August 2011

Marijana Dragosavac, one of the Department’s PhD students, was recently awarded first prize in the poster competition at the DIAMOND conference for her presentation on ‘Combined microfiltration and ion exchange.’

The DIAMOND (Decommissioning, Immobilisation and Management of Nuclear waste for Disposal) University research consortium was formed in response to a call for proposals issued by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council on the topic of Nuclear Waste Management and Decommissioning. Led by the University of Leeds, the consortium members include Imperial College, Loughborough University, University of Manchester, University of Sheffield and University College London.  Find out more about the project.
The competition was judged by a panel of experts from the nuclear industry who selected Marijana from amongst more than forty other PhD students who are also working on the DIAMOND project.
