Arts Degree Show

Every year our exceptional undergraduate and foundation students produce outstanding pieces of modern and contemporary work.

This work ranges across Fine Art, Textiles, and Graphic Communication and Illustration and is a culmination of originality, creativity and determination. The Arts Degree Show is a celebration of the commitment and diversity of talent exhibited by our students and takes place in June of each calendar year. We regularly welcome more than 2000 visitors and the work on display receives both critical acclaim and industry attention.

The School of the Arts, English and Drama and the wider University, awards prizes recognising student achievement, whilst external agencies and alumni also make awards based upon merit. These prizes range from financial awards, or travel scholarships, through to placement opportunities, purchases, commissions and possible employment. We are especially grateful for the coninued role that external agencies and organisations have played in shaping graduate destinations and supporting the careers of students graduating from the School.

Our students’ creations are not only influenced by their own experiences and imaginations, but also by live industry projects they have carried out with renowned companies, including Paul Smith, the V&A Museum and The Radio Times. Some students have also taken inspiration from placement opportunities with national and international organisations, including Liberty’s, adidas, Ford and ITV.

The Arts Degree Show also sees the School play host to an open day and events specifically for school and college pupils.
