The School organises national and international study visits and shorter trips for students to national and international destinations.
Study visits allow students an enhanced opportunity to examine their subject through an extended stay, visiting shows, exhibitions, museums, as well as public and industry events. These visits expose students to alternative views of their subject, helping to contextualise their learning and ensuring that they are aware of the global interest and significance of the visual and applied arts. We are fortunate to have many alumni who work internationally, and regularly ensure that students meet graduates working abroad on study visits and trips to enable them to understand first hand the possibilities for their work beyond graduation.
In previous years, study visits have enabled Loughborough students to experience the culture, lifestyle and environment of San Francisco, Singapore, Chicago, St. Petersburg, Paris, Valencia, New York and Milan.
The students have also taken part in shorter trips to artists’ studios, workshops, museums and project briefings in Venice, Barcelona, Dublin, London and Copenhagen.
