The course structure provides a balance between core skills modules and a range of optionality to enable you to develop your profile according to your strengths and vocational aims.
- In your first year, you cover a range of practical areas after foundational skills in ‘Performance Practices’; these include, ‘Acting and The Classics’, ‘From Analysis to Performance’ and ‘Devising for Performance’. Theoretical skills are developed through the modules ‘How to Read a Play’ and Theatre and its Histories’ and inform analytical and reflective work conducted during practical modules.
- In your second year, the programme continues the practical grounding in two Production modules and critical and theoretical skills are developed in ‘Performance Philosophy’. A range of optional modules across both the practical and theoretical routes is then chosen.
- In your third year, the ‘Theatre Practice’ modules provides a final year public performance and further optional modules are driven by the key skills introduced in previous years.
