Roxanne Bright

The inspiration for my work is nature, specifically exploring hedgerows and the intricate elements of seed heads and buds that are encased within them.

I love to draw and play with lots of different media. I then like to develop this not only into my woven fabrics but into my off-the-loom pieces. Interior is where my passion lies. Upholstery, statement cushions and interior accessories are where my work is best suited. Contrasting textures owes itself to my theme, thick wool and delicate cotton are my particular favourite. The finishing of wool, when washed, steamed or fringed, creates beautiful movement across a fabric. It is the texture, movement and colour which keep my textiles work on trend and original.
