‘Revolve’: a project which portrays the chaotic motion and saturated colour of the fairground.
The animated amusements bleed florescent light as the rides spin, rotate and spiral, imagery which is often captured in long exposure photography. Geometric shapes with youthful colours interpret Ferris wheels in abstract circular drawings and motion photography. This project plays on the transition from static to dynamic through surface pattern, embellishment, paper reliefs and concertinas. The design outcomes are intended for public spaces and industrial environments to celebrate and inject fun, novelty and amusement into our daily lives. As a designer I intend to construct and decorate environments with sensory materials and imagery to encourage nostalgia. I’m eager to ignite imagination in adulthood with childhood pleasures, idealism and fantasy.
