Arts Degree Show2016

Emma Shaw

Growing up by the North Yorkshire Moors has formed the inspiration for my collection, looking closely into the detail of the landscape and the wildlife it contains.

Exploring the undulating land as a whole, in comparison to the intricate textures and patterns contained in the markings of the birds that live there. By playing with scale and texture this line of woven fabrics for interiors focuses on the bold colours that are highlighted throughout the moorland and explores different weights of cloth for a variety of uses. A love of the hand crafted process and an admiration for quality design are features that have been celebrated in creating this collection of contemporary woven textiles.
