Textiles: Innovation & Design
Textiles at Loughborough University enables students to gain high-level practical skills in drawing, design and making, through specialist pathways in printed, woven and multi-media textiles.
A few words from the Textiles: Innovation & Design class of 2016
The work presented by the Textile graduates of 2016 celebrates the culmination of three, and for some, four years of work. It signifies the end of an era, but also the excitement and potential of a new journey.
It has been an honour to represent such a diverse, innovative and talented year group. Many of us have received design awards, scholarships for travel, and have sold designs nationally and internationally. This prolific level of success would not have been possible without the support and guidance of our tutors, technicians and peers.
Many of us have gained valuable work experience in the industry through a variety of placements ranging from small independent craft companies to internationally renowned designers and businesses. We have been incredibly fortunate to work with companies in the UK and also those around the world; in exciting locations such as Malaysia, New York, Stockholm and Australia.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the companies and independent designers that have taken us on, and express our gratitude for their continuing support throughout our final year.
Studying at Loughborough has been exciting and engaging, offering us a wide range of extracurricular and recreational activities to supplement our studies and support our development as dynamic individuals. We have benefitted from a creative and collaborative environment that has enabled us to forge friendships that will last a lifetime. We are excited to share our final exhibition with you and hope that you will continue to follow and support us in our future endeavours.
