Arts Degree Show2016

Tegan Parsons

My work investigates the relationship between the beauty of the natural world and the sublime through experimentation with colour, composition and surface.

My experimentation with colour, composition and surface was developed by exploration of colour theory and perception. These factors have the ability to emote; they create visual stimulation. I often find myself questioning the function of colour and this examination has allowed me to manipulate and investigate how altering these factors can affect us physically and mentally. Thickly applied paint and layering represents growth of the environment metaphorically and physically and helps my work reflect a semi-abstract and multi-faceted view of the natural world.
