Why did you choose Loughborough University?

I chose Loughborough University because of the great reputation of its management degree in aviation. I also liked the variety of sport clubs and societies that were on offer.

What attracted you to the University in the first place?

I have always wanted to experience studying at a campus university – it’s like your own little world! From the first time I visited the campus I loved its size and the range of facilities available to students: the Accommodation Centre, the Careers and Employability Centre, the Students’ Union, the Medical Centre and the sports pitches that are found across campus.

What do you think of the teaching quality and facilities?

I am very pleased with the teaching quality on my course. If there is a particular topic that has been covered which I do not fully understand, I can discuss it with my lecturer. All lecture material can be accessed on the electronic portal and there is a wide variety of books available at the university library to aid with coursework.

What kind of support have you had in the department and from the University?

My personal tutor is incredibly supportive; whenever I am unsure about something, she will always give me the best advice. The Careers and Employability Centre helped me to create a professional CV and provided valuable tips on job interviews.

Have you completed a placement whilst at University?

After my first year at Loughborough I completed a summer internship for a leading private aviation company in London. I gained valuable experience, developed new skills and acquired knowledge of the private aviation business, all of which are useful for my studies.

What do you hope to do when you graduate, and how will your Loughborough degree support this?

After graduation I hope to get a place on the British Airways Future Pilot Programme and become a pilot.

What would you say to someone considering your course?

It was truly one of the best decisions of my life to study at Loughborough! The university has so much to offer its students in terms of study, social and sport activities; the best on-campus accommodation and excellent student support services.

How do you find the social atmosphere on campus?

My free time is mostly devoted to sport. The huge variety of sports clubs and facilities on offer here was another reason for me to choose Loughborough. I am a part of AU Gymnastics, the Salsa Society and the LSU Gliding Club. Loughborough also has the biggest Student’s Union in the country and the list of clubs and societies is just massive – there is something for everyone!

Has Loughborough inspired you?

Since my first day here I have been surrounded by very motivated people. They are all interested in different things – some do sport whilst others are into arts or music – but they are all aiming for success. It is the best environment for me to be in as I can get the positive energy and inspiration I need for personal development. I have found so many like-minded people and have made a lot of very good friends.
