Automotive Engineering (MEng)

Course overview
Graduates of our Automotive courses are sought after by a wide range of automotive and motorsport companies. Many of our graduates have reached senior positions such as Chief Engineer, Race Engineer or Technical Director.
The first two years provide a firm foundation in the application of engineering science to automobile design, development and manufacture. Considerable emphasis is given to modern analytical and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) methods.
The strong automotive focus continues throughout the course, with the vehicle design work culminating in the complete design of a vehicle.
The MEng course broadens your knowledge of automotive engineering and allows you to study topics of particular interest in more depth. MEng students also undertake a substantial individual project and the taught material draws on current research topics.

This degree has been accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers under licence from the UK regulator, the Engineering Council. Accreditation is a mark of assurance that the degree meets the standards set by the Engineering Council in the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC). An accredited degree will provide you with some or all of the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for eventual registration as an Incorporated (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng). Some employers recruit preferentially from accredited degrees, and an accredited degree is likely to be recognised by other countries that are signatories to international accords. |
