Research Associate in System Optimisation for Model Based Powertrain Calibration

Current Research:

Tom is currently working on the Virbius project with Jaguar Land Rover. Tom’s research is focussed on the creation of a multidisciplinary modelling environment capable of co-simulation and XiL simulation for thermal energy management using a variety of tools including MATLAB/Simulink, GT-Suite and dSpace.

Background:

  • Received first class masters of engineering (MEng)  degree in Automotive Engineering from Loughborough University, 2011

Previous research:

  • Optimal Energy Management Strategy for a Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PhD thesis)
  • Fuel cell vehicle component sizing optimisation using optimal control.
