Control System Design for the Newly Invented Nheolis ATG Wind Turbine
An SME in France, Nheolis, has recently invented and patented a new type of wind turbine, Aero-Turbo-Generator, to improve the efficiency of wind power generation.
This project is jointly funded by EPSRC and Nheolis under the DHPA (Dorothy Hodgkin Postgraduate Awards) scheme. The main aim is to design the appropriate control strategy for the new wind turbine.
It includes several problems, such as maximum power point tracking, friendly grid connection, energy storage system etc.
