First PhD Research Conference
On 5th July, our department successfully organised the First PhD Research Conference to promote our multi-disciplinary research and to celebrate our PhD research achievements.
Six presentations and fourteen posters were exhibited on the day. After a peer selection process by the audience, Prof. John Feather, the Dean of Graduate School, presented the award for the best presentation to Miss Merenhya Anusha Wijewardane and the best poster award to Mr Maciej Pawel Czechowicz (accepted by project supervisor Dr. George Mavros).
The conference received encouraging feedback from the university, Graduate School, our new School, and many staff members and researchers from the department. The success of the conference gave everyone involved an opportunity to share research interests and exchange research experiences.
