AVEC 10
10th International Symposium on Advanced Vehicle Control
August 22-26 2010
Loughborough, UK
Venue and Travel
The conference will be based in Loughborough University’s own conference centre; Burleigh Court offers excellent conference facilities, first-class residential accommodation, a luxury therapy, spa and leisure complex and wonderful food. Although ample alternative accommodation is available within walking distance, it is anticipated that the majority of delegates will stay at Burleigh Court, where preferential rates have been negotiated.
The Loughborough campus is an impressive 165 hectare campus – one of the largest in the UK – and is well served by road, rail and air.

Loughborough is a pretty market town with a beautiful countryside setting next to the rocky Charnwood Forest – part of England's National Forest. This contains some of the oldest rocks and fossils in Britain , and there are walks into the area accessible directly from the conference centre. Close by is Bradgate Park (dating back to 1240) with its roaming herds of red and fallow deer. The park will be forever associated with England 's ‘Queen for Nine Days', the Lady Jane Grey, who lost her crown and her head to Mary Tudor, eldest daughter of Henry VIII.
