Paper Submission

Submission of Abstracts

Prospective authors should submit an extended abstract in English, describing the problem definition, method and results expected or obtained. This should include figures and tables where appropriate and is limited to 3 A4 pages and 1500 words. The number of papers is limited, subject to peer review of the abstracts, so authors are reminded to provide sufficient detail in the abstract to establish the academic and/or industrial merit of the work.

Before submitting your abstract, please register your details using the Registration section of this website. Abstracts do not have to comply with a prescribed style, but must be submitted in Word or pdf fomat, and include a header with the following information :

Completed abstracts should be submitted via email avec10@lboro.ac.uk. Abstracts will be reviewed and a decision on acceptance provided according to the timetable of important dates.

Successful authors are required to submit a full paper, limited to 6 A4 pages. Full papers are required to comply with the standard layout which is provided below in the form of a downloaded template. Completed papers should be submitted via email. Please also complete the copyright transfer form, and if possible, scan and email the completed form; alternatively the form can be faxed to +44 (0) 1509 227275.

Presentation of papers

The official language of the conference is English. Presentations will be limited to 25 minutes, including a 5 minute question and answer session.

Conference publication

The conference proceedings will be published in association with the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSAE). Proceedings will be provided at the conference on CD, with an accompanying book of abstracts, taken from the final papers.

Awards and Journal publication

Awards will be made for the best papers in each of the significant categories of the conference, judged by a panel of the AVEC scientific committee. A subset of authors will also be invited to develop and extend their work for publication in a special issue of Vehicle System Dynamics.
