Current Research
To further investigate the effects of simulated battle damage on a wing model. Current work involves modelling damage on an aircraft wing and varying the hole parameters (hole size, hole location relative to the chord, upper surface hole location relative to the lower surface hole).
From this aerodynamic data is collected, allowing the flow characteristics of the hole to be determined and to be compared to datum cases. Surface flow visualisation techniques help to develop the understandings further.
