Background
PhD University of Warwick, Mechanical Engineering, joined Loughborough AAE as a PDRA in 2010.
Research Interests and Activities
I have a general interest in fluid dynamics, and have worked on a wide range of problems from efflux of rivers into the ocean to mayonnaise mixing. My main interest concerns vortex dynamics within rotating and swirling flows and development of optical measurement systems for use in challenging environments.
Current activities include developing refractive index matching techniques capable of making internal flow measurements within complex geometries. The technique is to be applied to gas turbine injectors.
