Composition and Membership

Paul R Hodgkinson

Paul trained as an architect, is Executive Chairman of the Lincoln based award winning Simons Group Ltd., one of the larger privately owned Construction, Development and Consultancy groups in the UK. Simons carry out projects for a limited number of blue chip customers in the Retail, Distribution and Health sectors together with mixed use town centre regeneration developments.

Paul is a Trustee of The Mental Health Foundation, the largest research organisation into Mental Health in the UK. This charity is the leading think-tank in this area and combines evidence based research and programmes delivery across the UK.

Paul is a Non-Executive Chairman of the Notting Hill Housing Trust. This trust is one of the largest registered Social Housing organisations in London and is a leader in the Housing provision in London.  With a P&L of £400m, a Balance sheet of £10B and 30,000 plus tenants within the London catchment area.  As part of his role he also represents the business on the G15 (Group of top RSL’s in London).

Paul was Chairman of Funding Group for Lincoln University, instrumental in raising funds and delivering the new Lincoln University in the city from 1992 onwards.

1987-2013, Paul was Vice-President of the Business Commitment to the Environment.  This organisation founded by Sir Peter Panker was, until its recent merger, the oldest environmental award scheme in the country.

Trustee of Parenting UK 2009-2012.  This charity (now merged with Family Lives) was the foremost national authority on setting the parenting agenda.

Paul has also been active in the CBI for the last 30 years and sits on the Construction Council.

Paul was awarded a CBE for Services to Business in 2001.
