Advancement Committee

Terms of Reference

  1. To oversee the development of strategy and policy relating to all areas of Advancement (including but not restricted to Marketing and Communications, Public Relations, Development/Fundraising, Alumni Relations, Major Corporate Proposals and Bids, Public Affairs). 

  2. To advise on the implementation of advancement strategy and policy, reviewing operational progress as required.

  3. To receive and consider regular reports of progress in different areas of the advancement portfolio.

  4. To determine the setting of priorities for areas of advancement activity.

  5. To establish and direct the work of relevant sub-groups, receiving reports from such groups as necessary. The work of the Alumni Association and the Alumni Board will be reported to the Committee on a regular basis.

  6. To make recommendations to Senate, Council and the Executive as appropriate on the development of effective advancement activities at the University.

  7. To assist in the development of a co-ordinated approach spanning all areas of the advancement portfolio and embedding the activities widely across the University.

  8. To make decisions on the naming of buildings and roads on the recommendation of a member of the Committee following appropriate consultation.
