What circumstances lead to you entering the Clearing process?

I was one letter grade off from my conditional offer.

Where did you go for help and support?

I went to a Clearing fair in Hong Kong and was assigned an agent to help me narrow down the universities with the course I wanted and helped me contact them all.

Why did you choose Loughborough?

It was highest on the league table between all the other universities that have offered me a place, as well as the fact Loughborough had the best course content. The website was the easiest to navigate which was obviously very helpful considering my dyslexia.

What do you enjoy about your course?

I enjoy the wide range of module choices that are available to us, even allowing us to choose modules from other departments in our school. I also enjoy the close relationship between the lecturers and students - as our department is quite small it seems really personal and quite hands on.

What kind of support have you had in the department and from the University?

As I suffer from dyslexia I get support from the University, allowing me extra time on my essays. My department also provide lots of one on one tutoring with my lecturers if I ever have any trouble with the course content.

What would you say to someone considering your course?

If you are deciding between doing a course at university or going straight to drama school, I think it’s important to know that my degree provides both a practical and a theory side to drama. It is really helping me understand what career path I want to follow and which parts of drama I am definitely not interested in.

What do you enjoy the most about being a student at Loughborough?

I love how quickly the people here have become my family. It was hard moving away from home initially, but with lots of different societies and sports clubs to join, it is so easy to find friends with similar interests.

Has Loughborough inspired you?

Loughborough has inspired me to become more independent. Also, seeing people across campus so passionate about playing sport has made me more active in my daily life.

Have you got any advice for students who might go through Clearing this year?

My advice is don't be stressed out. I was in the same situation and I was convinced I wouldn't be able to get into a university. Choose carefully and don’t rush into it. Also, lots of unfortunate circumstances may lead to clearing, but everything works out in the end.
