Brits break relay record again

Students Caitlin McClatchey and Mel Marshall (far right) were part of a team that lowered the British 4x100m Freestyle record for the second time in two days.

The duo were one half of a squad that finished seventh in the Olympic relay final in a new national best of 3:38.18. The quartet, which also included Liverpool’s Fran Halsall and Jessica Sylvester of Nova Centurion, lowered last night’s best in the heats by exactly one second.

Winners were the current world record holders the Netherlands, who set a new Olympic Record for gold in 3:33.76.
