Lifetime Achievement Award in Chemistry for alumna
Professor Salma Mohammed Al Kindy has received a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award in Chemistry’ from the Venus International Foundation (VIF).
Salma has been recognised for her contribution, research excellence and accomplishments in the field of Chemistry.
Professor Kindy is the Dean of the College of Science and Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. She is also an elected Fellow of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS).
In 2013, Salma was honoured by the US through the Department of State’s Women in Science Hall Of Fame, celebrating outstanding female scientists through the Middle East.
Salma graduated from Loughborough in 1987 with a PhD in Chemistry.
Salma will receive her award at the third annual research meet of the VIF on 11 November in Chennai, India.
