Impact of donations celebrated at Inaugural Donor Day
On 16 March 2017, the University held an Inaugural Donor Day to celebrate the support that donors provide to the University.
Attendees were given the opportunity to meet with students and academics to hear first-hand how their donations have impacted upon Loughborough University. Guests were also able to witness the benefits through a range of exclusive tours of new developments on campus.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robert Allison made a speech and thanked donors at the Donor Day lunch where over 80 guests were in attendance.
In the evening, scholarship donors attended the Donors and Scholars Reception to meet with the students who have benefited from their gifts. Scholarships are instrumental in enabling students to study at Loughborough and benefit from the outstanding teaching and facilities on campus.
Scholars gave speeches of thanks at the reception, noting the impact that donations have had on their Loughborough University experience.
The Scholarships that were represented were: Development Trust Scholarships; Sport Scholarships; Water, Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC) Scholarships and Ford Blue Oval Scholarships.
Over 220 students have been supported through scholarships from donations to the University for this academic year, 2016-17.
