Alumnus wins international award
Alumnus Gian-Rico Luzzi was recently awarded the Ambassador of Duty of Care Award by the International SOS Foundation.
This award recognises research undertaken for his Masters dissertation completed at Loughborough on travel security risk management. This was also nominated for the Imbert Prize in 2015.
His research has been used as the foundation for a new British Standard on business travel security. This guideline provides strategic direction and guidance for developing best practice in travel risk management programmes.
Rico is a Regional Corporate Security Manager for Zebra Technology and his career spans 17 years working in private and corporate security. Following his industrial experience, Rico studied at the School of Business and Economics.
The awards, hosted in Berlin by the International SOS Foundation honour organisations and individuals making a significant contribution to protecting people while travelling or working remotely.
Submissions for the awards came from a variety of industries, including Automotive, Finance and Education, and represent over 30 countries worldwide.
