Alumnus gains sports scholarship to study in San Francisco

Freddie Hessian has been selected to study at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco on a sports scholarship starting in the new academic year.

The Graphic Communication and Illustration alumnus has been awarded the scholarship for athletics.

Freddie is a middle distance runner who also competes in cross country during the winter months. In recent years he has competed for Loughborough Students’ Athletics Club.

The move to San Francisco will see Freddie continue his training alongside studying a Master of Fine Arts design course at the University.

This year Freddie has worked as a Graphic and Digital Design Intern in Creative and Print at Loughborough University following his graduation from the School of the Arts in summer 2016. He created the identity for the #spithappens campaign held earlier this year which won the Internal Communications Campaign of the Year Award at the PRCA Dare Awards (Midlands) 2017.

Many congratulations to Freddie who will make the move to the USA in August.
