Talks, tours and activities

Alumni Association AGM

The Alumni Association will be holding its Annual General Meeting on the morning of the reunion, and all alumni are invited to attend. Hosted by the Alumni President, Dr Paul Drummond, the meeting will give guests the opportunity to find out more about the Alumni Association, see what has been happening over the last year and to find out about plans for the future.

Campus Tours

Take a guided tour of our award-winning campus to see how the University has developed over the last 30-40 years. You will also get the opportunity to have a ‘sneak peek’ at the brand new Elite Athlete Centre which is due to open in November 2018, along with various other new world-class facilities from the Design School through to the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM).

A Day In The Life of a Student: Then and Now

Join the Students’ Union President for an insight into what being a student is like today and reflect on your memories from when you were a student. There will also be the opportunity to explore the Pilkington Library and University Archive.

STEMLab and West Park Tour

Take a look around one of the UK’s leading centres of excellence for teaching Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Our new STEMLab provides state-of-the-art learning facilities for students from the Science and Engineering disciplines on campus.

Drinks Reception and Gala Dinner

Join fellow reunion guests and senior university staff for a drinks reception and gala dinner to celebrate your return to Loughborough. The evening will include a drinks reception, three course dinner with table wine, speeches, a special university gift, live music and most importantly the chance to catch up properly with your old friends.

Free Time

If you prefer time to yourself prior to the gala dinner, that’s absolutely fine. Here are a few ideas for inspiration:

Exploring campus

Why not take yourself around the university's Fruit Route and discover the range of edible fruit and plants along footpaths and cycle ways? Maps will be available on the information desk on arrival.

If you wish to have time for reflection, you can visit the Garden of Remembrance.

It’s likely there will also be student sports matches taking place on Saturday. A full list of fixtures and match locations will be available at the information desk on arrival.

Take a trip into town

Take a campus shuttle service into Loughborough town centre to see the thriving market, visit the many shops or visit one of your old favourite haunts!
